The second joint mission of UNHCR and its supporter Ms. Obied Youssef took place last week. Native of Syria, she is now assisting her compatriots. The team visited Gomel this time. The goal of the mission was to identify the newly resettled Syrians’ needs and provide them with in kind assistance.
Ms. Obied Youssef met her Syrian compatriots – three families resettled from Lebanon to Belarus via the UNHCR and MIA’s project in February 2015. The families shared their experiences in Belarus, concerns, hopes, and plans for future. The refugee children’s happiness knew no limits when they received all the toys that Ms. Obied Youssef collected for them with the help of her friends.
A previous joint mission took place two months ago. The team visited Syrian families at the Temporary Accommodation Centre in Vitebsk. Thanks to Ms. Yuossef, 2 asylum-seekers found jobs and the children received much needed clothes, toys, books and stationary.
