Training on statelessnessToday, another issue of equal importance with the issue of refugees is the problem of statelessness. In November 2014, UNHCR launched a global campaign #IBelong.

In Belarus there are about 6,000 people who are not citizens of any state. "A stateless person" is a legal term used in such cases.

Let's hear about statelessness in the world and in Belarus. Let's talk about its causes and consequences. Let's find out about the UNHCR global campaign to eliminate statelessness #IBelong. How and what to write about it?

Speaker: Valeria Cherednichenko, Associate Protection Officer (Statelessness) at UNHCR Bureau for Europe, Brussels, Belgium; Master of International Law, Public International Law, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv; LLM International and European Public Law, Tilburg University (the Netherlands); Ambassador of Ukraine to the One Young World movement. Valeria has been working on issues of statelessness since 2011 and has been dealing with issues of statelessness in Europe for more than four years.

Jean-Yves Bouchardy, UNHCR Representative in Belarus, UNHCR and Interior Ministry experts will also participate in the meeting.
