Winners of the contestThe results of the contest of scholarships for students, candidates for a master's degree, postgraduate students on the topic of “Protection of refugees and stateless persons and their integration in society”, held in September-November 2018 by the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and International Non–governmental Association for Scientific Research, Information  and Educational Programmes «Evolutio» were summed up.

 

This year 52 works of students, undergraduates and graduate students from 13 higher educational institutions of the Republic of Belarus partook in the competition.

 

The winners of the contest are:

First degree diploma:

  • Veronika Zelenkevich (student of the Faculty of Economics and Law of International University “MITSO” (Vitebsk affiliate), research paper  “Refugee family reunification program by the case of Germany”;
  • Yana Luzikova (student of the Faculty of Economics and Law of Mogilev State University named after A. A. Kuleshov), research paper “Application of the non-refoulement principle in the system of international protection of refugees”;
  • Veronika Manets (student of the Law Faculty of Brest State University named after A. S. Pushkin), research paper “Multiculturalism in a globalizing world and experience for the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation ";

Second degree diploma:

  • Kirill Demidov (student of the Faculty of Management of the Management Personnel Institute of the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus), research paper “Comparative Analysis of National Practices for Refugees on the examples of the Republic of Belarus and the United Kingdom”;
  • Anastasia Ignatovich (master student of the Faculty of International Relations of Belarusian State University), research paper “Modern information technologies as an additional tool for solving the problem of forced environmental migration”,
  • Irina Rusetskaya (cadet of the Border Service Institute of the Republic of Belarus), research paper  “Problems of identification of a person without an identity document seeking protection in the Republic of Belarus;

    Third degree diploma:

    • Nestor Doronin (student of the Law Faculty of Belarusian State University), research paper “Comparative analysis of the deprivation and loss of citizenship practice: problematic aspects and ways to resolve them”,
    • Stanislav Starostin (student of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Baranovichi State University), research paper “The attitude of student youth to the problem of refugees and stateless persons”,  
    • Elizaveta Halko (student of the Technosphere Safety Faculty of the University of Civil Protection of the Ministry for Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus), research paper “Improving the pedagogical adaptation processes in conditions of child migration”.

    The awarding ceremony took place on December, 27 at the Faculty of International Relations of the Belarusian State University. The event was attended by the officers of the UNHCR Office in Belarus who together with the INA “Evolutio” presented diplomas and cash rewards to the winners.
